tidbit of info...
milk glass is an opaque milky white glass, the white color is achieved through the addition of tin dioxide or bone ash. it can either be blown or pressed into a wide variety of shapes, patterns, and sizes. milk glass was first made in venice, italy in the 16th century. 19th-century glass makers called this milky white opaque glass "opal glass". other colors include blue, pink, yellow, brown, black. but it is the white that gave this type of glass its popular name.
