Crafting Fail: Washi wrapped votive glass

I was not able to find grey candles for my wedding and decided to buy pink instead. My first idea was to wrap the votive holders in grey washi tape. How adorable are these candle holders below! Right! I did not hate the outcome but did not think it was wedding worthy.

My version:

I can not say they are a complete fail because I do kind of like them, but maybe just around the house.

Wedding Wednesday: Candles

The centerpieces for our reception are these adorable lace looking vases we found at Ikea. I found the perfect fake flowers at the Dollar store! I adore the way they look and even better is the price. I will be placing four votive candles around each vase. I have been searching for grey votive candles to place in the holders, but sadly I have not been able to find any grey votives. I did find these adorable pink votive candles.

Life according to my iPhone

I finally got an iPhone a few weeks ago! I had no idea what I was missing! I am still getting use to it but this phone is so much fun! The best part besides the apps is you can edit photos and do blog posts all from your phone.

What I've been up to lately:
Getting outside to workout.
Created some yarn wrapped bottles.
Back to work on my etsy shop with some new items.
Found this awesome owl near the dumpster. I could not leave him.
And last but not least harassing poor Alex.

D.I.Y. Yarn Wrapped Bottles

I know this is nothing new and it has been all over the Internet and Pinterest. I finally decided to use some empty bottles and wrap those suckers wih some yarn.

Supplies:
Empty glass bottles
Yarn
Modge podge

Apply a small amount of modge podge in small sections on the bottle. Attach the yarn and start wrapping your yarn around the bottle. Just keep applying the modge podge and warp around until you finish the whole bottle.

Wedding Wednesday: Update

My priorities have changed a little in the last few months. My focus has been away from blogging and more on planning my upcoming wedding. It seems like every weekend we are doing something wedding related. During the week, I have been focused on getting my butt to the gym. I have been trying to go about five days a week. So far with working out and dieting I am down about 10 pounds. Woohoo! Between life, work, gym, and wedding it has been hard to focus on blogging. Some things I can cross off my wedding list....

Wedding dress purchased
Bridesmaid dresses picked out and purchased (three down and one to go)
Mother of bride dress purchased
Centerpieces all picked out (just need to purchase some more things)
Rings purchased (gotta fix Bob's because he has fat fingers)
Cake picked out
Candy buffet glassware purchased
Favors almost done
Blah Blah Blah....I could go on and on. Every weekend has been something wedding related.

This past weekend we had our cake consultation. It was awesome because I got to stuff my face with cake!  We decided on using red velvet and chocolate cake.

Now in stores!!!

I am going to toot my own horn a little today. Why? Because I am so excited to announce that some of my products can now be found at the store Butterflies and Bullfrogs. The store is a high end children's consignment store and the owner sells homemade items also. I was super excited when I showed her my items and she liked them! It's even better that the store is right near my work. Here is to hoping people love my items! You will currently find felt bow bobby pins and children's earring available in store. If you would like to check out these items in my shop click here.
